Black White and Boredom

We had a roll of BW film in our camera. There were no events we were planning on going to where BW film would have been warranted. In my boredom in the basement, I decided to waste the roll on Benner. Surprisingly (to me, anyway), some of the photos turned out pretty well. Take a look for yourself.

So, Benner has the croup. Who gets the croup in 2007? Apparently a lot of kids in Benner's new school. Despite the awful cough and not being able to sleep much, he's still a little ham. Aunt Dory came over on Sunday and took some pictures.





Steve also took Ben to the zoo and produced this funny pic ...



We also discovered Ben can count (with holes) to 10!! We were pretty amazed when we were joikingly counting and we here Ben in the backseat counting along. Who knows what else he knows and isn't telling us!! :)

Look who's 2

Benner turned two the same weekend we moved into our new house - quite a week! Today is his first day at his new school and when we dropped him off this morning he seemed to be doing alright. The little guy is no longer really that "little" as he keeps getting taller and taller and talking more and more. He loves to follow his cousin Grace around and does everything that she does. :)

Summer Lovin', Havin' a Blast!

Ben loves to be outside! Grandma Pat took Benner to the beach on Saturday to watch Uncle Dan play some volleyball while Steve and I worked on the house. Grandma tells us that Ben kept trying to run into the lake even though the park officials had closed it due to bacteria (ick). Thanks to Aunt Dory and her new spiffy camera, we also got a few photos of soem other adventures.

Memorial Day 2007

Ben enjoyed the River Forest Memorial Day Parade with his cousins Grace and Ruthie. When the bands went by he danced and clapped his hands. After the parade Ben played t-ball with Grandpa Al and Grace. We wrapped up the day by going to Brown Cow ice cream on the way home - yum! It was a great day.

Recovered with a vengance

Ben recovered from his surgery like a trooper -- in fact, he seems to have more energy NOW then he did before the surgery! He was such a good little guy.

little old man

Ben snores. Loudly. He's snored for almost as long as his nose has been running -- about 8 months. We didn't really think anything of it until we got tired of constantly wiping his nose (he's gotten really good at letting people do it, and even doing it himself) and brought him to the doctor to inquire about allergies. Nope, not allergies. It's his adenoids (the little things behind - sorta - your tonsils). His adenoids have grown to the point where they are pretty much blocking his entire nasal passage, which is what causes the snoring like a 60-year-old man, constant running nose, and sleep apnea. So Tuesday the 15th Steve and I are bringing out little old man to have his adenoids removed. Poor little Benners first surgery. Let's hope it's the last for a long time!
